The urge for a new boat and started checking around, i made up my mind to find a late model used boat since new boats lose almost one fourth of their selling price the first year, i was also determined to stick with a boat around 18 feet.
Long with a 150 hp motor since that was what i had, it was stable enough for the type fishing i do, and i did not want a heavier boat to pull, i was not going to get a bigger boat with a bigger motor, i looked in the boat trader magazine and saw many boats a year or two old for a fair price, i spent hours looking at them, marked the ones i liked and checked back over them time after time, of course every one had some problem - it was not exactly what i wanted, it was.
A little older than my range or i worried about the shape it was in, to help me decide i made a checklist to mark off everything i wanted, my old stratos needed new steering cables so i Cheap Boats
took it to a dealer to have them replaced, while there.
I decided to look at his new boats, of all the models in stock, i liked a 19 ft 3 inch stratos 295 best, the layout was just what i wanted and there was a dealer rebate on both boat and motor, when i talked to a salesman he did a good.
Job - showed me what a good deal the boat was and how that boat that was bigger than what i wanted, with a 200 hp motor, again bigger than what i wanted, was just the outfit that i wanted, and he showed me i could Cheap Boats
get it for less than a new 18 foot model because of the rebates, i used all my will power and left.
Without giving him a deposit, i wanted to sleep on it, the next morning he called me at work and asked if he could order it for me, it would take about three weeks to get it in and i would have it in time for the one big tournament i fish each year, the georgia bass chapter federation top six, i almost said yes but i wanted to check with a couple of other dealers before making a commitment, the first stratos dealer i called had just what i wanted Cheap Boats
and it was in.
Stock, i could pick it up that day, but the price he quoted on the phone was almost $2000 more, the second dealer i called had a new 97 in stock and said he had a good deal on it, i drove over that afternoon and looked it over, sure enough, it was exactly like the 98 model but $1000 less, i bought it on the spot, if you want a new boat, make up your mind exactly what you want, make a checklist so you are sure you get everything.
